The group is interdisciplinary and consists of researchers with backgrounds in sociology, history, psychology, health and social sciences, and pedagogy. Members come from both Molde University College and Volda University College. Research projects associated with the group focus on children in various institutional and social contexts (school/daycare, family, leisure activities/sports, health or child welfare). These projects draw on childhood sociological and historical perspectives, as well as psychological and sociocultural perspectives. One of the group’s goals is to foster critical discussions about how children and childhood are understood and constructed in practice, policy, research, and institutions, and how this impacts inclusion and exclusion.

The group aims to

  1. Share and discuss research results, ideas, and drafts to develop new perspectives and inspire further work.
  2. Create new research projects and grant applications.
  3. Facilitate interdisciplinary and cross-institutional dialogue and collaboration in the field.
