About the thesis
The thesis aims to develop an analytical framework for the prediction and assessment of changes in locational accessibility due to alterations in international air transport networks, such as for example, the construction of new airports or the introduction of new flight routes. Intended as a supplementary instrument for potential future integration with established national and international transport models, this work focuses specifically on the relationship between network alterations at the global level and their consequent changes for travellers at the regional and local levels. The work applies to network theoretical concepts to measure and predict dynamics in air transport networks. It develops a methodology that expresses 'the value' of such alterations to travellers as changes in their generalized travel costs.
Falko Müller (44) kommer fra Leipzig i Tyskland. Etter karriere i det tyske flyvåpenet, med stabsoffiserutdanning og flyinstruktørutdanning, fullførte han en MBA ved Universitetet i München i 2003. Senere har han fullført en MSc in Logistics ved Høgskolen i Molde i 2015.
Han har gjennom ph.d.-studiene vært tilsatt som stipendiat ved Høgskolen i Molde. Falko Müller er i dag tilsatt som rådgiver i Samferdselsavdelingen i Møre og Romsdal Fylkeskommune.
