Install Office 365 - Mac

Students and staff at HiMolde can install Office 365 Office programs on private computers. People who are "affiliated" with HiMolde can use Office Online, but not download and install the Office programs

1. Sign in to Office 365 at office.com. Sign in with username@himolde.no. Click the Install Office Button. The language is determined by the language used in your browser.

2. The downloaded file will be downloaded to the Downloads folder, which you can find on the right in the "Dock" on your Mac.

3. Open the downloaded file and the installation will start. Follow the instructions.

  • If you have trouble opening the installation package, hold down the ctrl key (or right-click the computer mouse) while clicking the file. Click Open. If this does not work, copy the error message and use the help guide on your Mac.
  • When the programs are installed, go to the Programs folder and double-click on the program you want to open.
  • To access the program, you must log in. Use your HiMolde username and password and click Next. Fill in your username@himolde.no. Click Next.

 

  • You will be presented a window that prompts you to sign in. Sign in with username@himolde.no. Tick the box below the password field to stay signed in.
  • NB! You only need to do this the first time you open an application in Office 365. You do not need to do the same process again even if you open another application as long as you are logged in to your user account.

Note: To change the language used in Office 365 you will have to change the Mac OS system language.
