LOG767 Supply Chain Risk Management (Spring 2024)

About the course

The necessity for effective risk management is of utmost importance for businesses in order to avoid or reduce the consequences that may arise from unexpected events within the supply chain. External events such as global epidemics or severe weather conditions necessitate businesses to prepare, evaluate, and mitigate risks in order to be well-prepared and capable of confronting unforeseen challenges. Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) involves the implementation of strategies aimed at managing both routine and exceptional risks throughout the supply chain, which is achieved through continuous risk assessment with the objective of reducing vulnerability and ensuring uninterrupted operations.

Within this academic discipline, students will acquire knowledge on theoretical models pertaining to risk management in supply chains. This encompasses the understanding of principles, concepts, and practical applications of risk and risk management, as well as familiarity with international standards for management, such as ISO 3100.
