LOG530 Distribution Planning (Spring 2024)

About the course

The course presents a wide range of distribution problems. 

It emphasizes both exact formulation of the problems and how to solve them using standard computer software packages.

The course is connected to the following study programs

Knowledge:

The student should have knowledge of

·         Transportation and transshipment situations 

·         Discrete localization and network problems

·         Allocation problems

·         Classical network problems, such as the Postman Problem, the Travelling Salesman Problem and the Minimal Span Problem.

Skills:

The student should be able to recognize different types of distribution problems described in the literature, to formulate such problems mathematically and to solve them using computer software.

General competence:

The student should be able to comprehend and apply simple models for distribution planning problems.
