About the course
Course content (abstract):
Information systems capture, generate and store a vast amount of data. With the help of Business intelligence this vast data may be used for analysis and provide valuable input for managers in decision-making process. Business intelligence involves data preparation for analysis: data modeling, loading, cleaning and storage, data analysis and reporting. The focus of this seminar is on managerial or end user perspective of Business Data Warehouse use for data storage, analysis and reporting. The course includes practical cases in SAP ERP Logistic IS and SAP BI. NOTE: Number of participants is limited to 25 students. Prerequisite is successfully completed either IBE700-Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP-systems) or LOG904-147 SAP ERP Integration and simulation of business processes course.

The student's learning outcomes after completing the course
Learning outcome: Gain knowledge, understanding of the major concepts: Business Intelligence; Data modeling, ETL process; Analysis and reporting
Forms of teaching and learning
Working and learning activities: Hand-in of everyday exercises individually and a final report. Completion of the daily exercises is mandatory. The final report has to be 9-10 pages generated based on real data. This report can be done either individually or as a group of 2 persons.
