The teachers presented different image-based communication aids, such as a picture book, daily schedule and talking mats.
Tøndergård also generously offered everybody tea, coffee, fruit, chocolate and biscuits, which were warmly welcomed by all.
The students got to try out the various PC programs and made their own activity plans and day plans in Boardmaker, adapted to students with different needs for support in communication.
The students showed great zeal and creativity in their designs and got to use Swahili as a written language in the pictures. The pictures and activity plans were finally laminated.
These tools will be put to use and benefit pupils in Tanzania schools when the students return to their workplaces.
