  We present the potential application of Machine Learning (ML) to fish farm in a similar approach used in agriculture to control crop growing and predict diseases. The agriculture concept of Precision Agriculture is now applied to fish farm by applying control-engineering principles to fish production; Precision Fish Farming (PFF) aims to improve the farmer's ability to monitor, control, and document biological processes. PFF can help the industry because it takes into consideration the boundary conditions and potentials that are unique to farming operations in the aquatic environment. The proposed solution improves commercial aquaculture and makes it possible to transition to knowledge-based production regime as opposed to experience-based. We apply a data mining approach to identify and evaluate the impact on the growth and mortality of fish in hatcheries. The use of ML techniques, combined with regulation, can increase the productivity and welfare of aquaculture living organisms.   An outbreak of disease characterized by skin ulcers, fin rot and mortality was observed a few days after the transfer of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) from a freshwater smolt production facility to a land‐based seawater post‐smolt site. Dead and moribund fish had severe skin and muscle ulcers, often 2–6 cm wide, particularly caudal to the pectoral fins. Microscopic examination of smears from ulcers and head kidney identified long, slender Gram‐negative rods. Histopathological analysis revealed abundance of long, slender Tenacibaculum‐like bacteria in ulcers and affected fins. Genetic characterization using multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) of seven housekeeping genes, including atpA, dnaK, glyA, gyrB, infB, rlmN and tgt, revealed that the isolates obtained during the outbreak were all clustered with the Tenacibaculum dicentrarchi‐type strain (USC39/09T) from Spain. Two bath challenge experiments with Atlantic salmon and an isolate of T. dicentrarchi from the outbreak were performed. No disease or mortality was observed in the first trial. In the second trial with a higher challenge dose of T. dicentrarchi and longer challenge time, we got 100% mortality within 48 hr. This is the first reported outbreak of disease caused by T. dicentrarchi in Norwegian farmed Atlantic salmon.

  Studenter sliter med opplevelse av ensomhet og 1/3 av studentene oppfyller kriteriene for en psykisk lidelse, særlig depressive episoder. Førsteårsstudentene sliter mest. Digital undervisning har økt markant fra før coronatiden. Det samme har opplevelsen av ensomhet og psykiske lidelser blant studenter. I ett førstesemesteremne i bachelorstudiet i marin logistikk og økonomi ved høgskolen i Molde ble undervisningen kun gitt fysisk. Dette hovedsakelig for å få flere studenter til campus og klasserom. Det ble det sett på om oppmøtegrad i forelesningene og også resultater fra videregående skole hadde innvirkning på karakterer gitt til eksamen i emnet. Det ble også sett på hvordan alder på studentene påvirket karakterer og også hvordan overgangen fra videregående skole til høgskole ble opplevd i forhold til alder. Resultatene viste at større oppmøtegrad gav signifikant bedre karakterer og at bedre karakterer fra videregående skole også var positivt korrelert med bedre karakterer i dette emnet. Videre så en at overgangen til høgskole for de studentene som kom rett fra videregående skole opplevdes større enn for eldre studenter. Studentene var fornøyde med emnet. Forelesninger ble ikke lagt ut digitalt – og studentene gav ikke utrykk for at de savnet dette.
