All mouth-to-mouth resuscitation training will be stopped

The Norwegian Resuscitation Council (NRR) recommends that all mouth-to-mouth resuscitation training will be stopped until the situation with the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is more clarified.

This is because exercise dolls are often used by several students and disinfection between use is unlikely to fully protect against infection. This does not preclude other moments around cardiovascular rescue (CPR) training, such as chest compressions and cardiac restart, depending on precautions that generally apply with group teaching during these times.

Mouth-to- mouth training can be resumed at a later stage when the epidemic is over. The recommendation is based on WHO's general recommendations for limiting infection in the population, where mouth-to-mouth on exercise dolls will conflict with several of the recommendations.

The use of face mask, PocketMask ™ or similar for exercise purposes is covered by the same recommendation.

Based on this, all activity where patient simulators are involved in skills training is halted until further notice.
